  • Delta Hose Deployment Packs

01 May 2018 Simon Lister Delta Fire

Delta's new Hose Deployment Packs provide significantly enhanced fire fighter safety across a multitude of firefighting scenarios, particularly suited for use in High Rise fire fighting.

This unique two-part system comprises the 'Lay Pack' and 'Attack Pack' designed to provide quick, easy, safe deployment of fire hose in the Cleveland Hose Load.

The Lay Pack stores an attack hose with pre-connected adaptors and dividing breeching ready for quick connection to the Attack Pack.  The Attack Pack then self-feeds hose from the pack in a controlled manner as the front-line fire fighter advances towards the fire (eg up a stairwell) eradicating loose hoses strewn across the access path resulting in potential trip hazzards and tangled hoses. The Attack Pack also stores a door wedge and pre-connected fire nozzle (sold seperately) enabling the fire fighter to engage the fire immediately saving valuable seconds.

Delta's Hose deployment packs are ideally suited for use with Delta Nova Ultraflex Type 3 Fire Hose thanks to its' all nylon' flexibility and ability to remain 'kink-free' at low pressures ensuring water flow is maintained at all times. Delta Hose Deployment packs can be supplied emply or 'fully-loaded' ready for use.

  • Wearing PPE… a culture change for vets

01 May 2018 Neil Rae- BARTA Education and eLearning Development Lead British Animal Rescue and Trauma Care Association

The culture is changing in the veterinary industry as a whole and wearing helmets is now common and becoming normal. This is mainly because of mandatory policies in relation to competitions and local policies set at many yards.

The British Equine Veterinary Association is raising awareness of the importance of equine behaviour modification, equine behaviour assessment, risk assessment and risk reduction (including PPE and helmets).

When it comes to vets attending the scene of a multi-agency response and working with emergency services to resolve incidents involving animals, having the correct PPE available is critical and something BARTA will be promoting at this years show.

  • Like Penicillin and stainless steel before it, GORE-TEX® Fabric was an unintentional creation stumbled upon by father-son duo, Wilbert L. Gore and Robert W. Gore. Their discovery was made in 1969 when the two were working with rods of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and unexpectedly found that under the right set of conditions, the material could expand by up to 800% of its original size.
