There is currently limited research evidence in the UK on the links between mental health, fire ignitions, fire risks, injuries and deaths. What exists is based on practitioner experience and some limited analysis of data. Despite the limitations of robust data there is sufficient concern about the potential links between accidental fires, suicides and mental health. As part of the NFCC Prevention Programme, we have worked in partnership with Public Health, Nottingham Trent University, FRSs to examine this issue as part of a research project. This session will look at the research and how it will be put into practice
