Event planning has focused on public order, response to traditional threats with a focus on public safety. The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 hosted in Merseyside on behalf of Ukraine, held a significant cyber threat. Chris Maddocks from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit led the law enforcement response to this threat to mitigate threat and ensured the Team Cyber UK resource was able to be mobilised in the case of an attack. This session will cover the key considerations in bringing cybercrime into event response, methods to mobilise national resource, and the setup of mitigation strategies to protect the public.
