Human learning is the foundation on which whole-society resilience is built. Yet the process of implementing and embedding learning from exercises and emergencies has proved to be a long-standing challenge. Going forward, how can we ensure that lessons are leveraged for lasting, long-term change across the risk cycle? In the face of an evolving risk landscape, this session proposes that our approach to learning lessons must also evolve. It demonstrates how the UK Resilience Lessons Digest is contributing to that process, and considers how organisations can leave a rich learning legacy for the next generation.
