TECH TALKS: Preparing emergency services for the next era of drone operations
The UK's drone training landscape is changing, with the Civil Aviation Authority introducing the Remote Pilot Competency (RPC) Framework to replace the long-standing General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC). For emergency services already using drones across search and rescue, firefighting, policing and medical response, understanding what this means is becoming increasingly important.
In this session, Ross Tarnowski, Head of Training Services at Eagle Eye Innovations, explains what the new framework means for blue light organisations, why competency-based training is replacing qualification-based models, and how services can prepare their teams for increasingly complex operations, including Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) capability.
