Brigadier General (Ret.) Rhonda L. Cornum, PhD, MD to Appear at the Emergency Services Show in Birmingham, UK

49 North™, a division of TechWerks, LLC, is proud to announce that Brigadier General (Ret.) Rhonda L. Cornum, PhD, MD, will appear at the Emergency Services Show in Birmingham, England, on September 17–18, 2025, at Booth 5/K172.

Dr. Cornum is internationally recognized as a pioneer in resilience, wellbeing, and force protection. She retired from the United States Army in 2012 as a Brigadier General and served as the Director of Comprehensive Soldier Fitness—a groundbreaking program that trained over 1.1 million Soldiers in resilience skills. Prior to that, she was the Assistant Surgeon General for Force Protection, commanded the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, and served as the Command Surgeon for U.S. Army Forces Command.

A board-certified surgeon in urology, with a PhD in biochemistry and nutrition from Cornell University, Dr. Cornum’s military career was defined by service at the frontlines of medicine, research, and leadership. She is also a decorated Gulf War veteran and former Prisoner of War, who chronicled her experiences of survival and resilience in her memoir, She Went to War. Her decorations include the Army Distinguished Service Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Air Medal, and Prisoner of War Medal.

Today, Dr. Cornum continues to advance resilience and wellbeing as Director of Health Strategy at TechWerks and a leading figure with 49 North™, where she helps organizations worldwide strengthen both physical and mental readiness.
