This five-day course has been developed by a former Police Search Adviser (PolSA) and the former Police National Search Centre Training Manager. Delivered by approved Police National Search Instructors, it ensures delegates are trained in accordance with National Policing Search Standards and are equipped to operate in line with the National Police Service’s Concept of Operations and Common Minimum Standards for Search & Rescue.

Designed for both novice and experienced search professionals, the course delivers a structured progression of skills, providing essential knowledge to support missing person searches and enhance operational effectiveness.

Upon completing the course, participants will be qualified in First Aid and navigation methods, proficient in missing persons behaviour techniques, and trained in key disciplines, including:

• Map Reading & Navigation

• Radio & Communication Skills

• Point of Find Procedures

• Crime Scene Awareness

• First Aid & Safeguarding

The course is currently undergoing Skills for Justice accreditation, with confirmation expected shortly.
