Key Skills
The post holder must have:
- You need excellent communication skills. This role regularly requires team members to provide verbal briefings to a range of rank levels within the MPS and partner agencies
- A knowledge of issues affecting communities in London.
- You will have a genuine interest in national/international events, and be interested in different cultures and belief systems. You will have an appreciation of how global events can affect local issues.
- You will also be required to write reports, briefing notes and impact assessments, so high quality report writing is essential
- Though you will work as part of a team, you will be able to work proactively without close supervision, and to identify opportunities and develop ideas
- Strong IT skills.
Experience
- Experience of community policing would be valuable to understand the structure of local policing.
- A held experience of working with communities and partnership groups would provide good value for the role as a Community Engagement Worker.
- The applicant must have prior experience in report writing and delivering presentations
Desirables
- Language skills
- Analytical skills
- Experience of proactive community policing.
- Experience of multi-agency forums or joint working with partners outside the MPS.
- Experience of working with open source
- Good IT skills, use of word, excel, one drive etc
- Knowledge of social media/ open source research
