Animals are integral to communities, so when an emergency occurs, the impact is evident across human and animal populations. Civil Contingencies legislation places responsibility on emergency planners to include animals in preparedness and response. BARTA works across emergency and animal welfare sectors to establish and disseminate best practice solutions for the management of incidents involving animals.
