Alison Blakey
Deputy Chief Paramedic,
London Ambulance Service
With more than 20 years of service, Alison has dedicated her career to keeping patients at the heart of everything she does. Inspired by the care she received as a teenager after a serious injury, Alison has carried that same compassion into her leadership, ensuring LAS teams remain people-focused even under immense pressure. She has led change during some of the most challenging times for the service, from adapting to rising demand in mental health and social care to introducing innovative solutions like the 45-minute handover process, which has freed up paramedics to reach the sickest patients faster. Beyond operations, Alison champions openness, inclusion, and prevention, from sexual safety and anti-racism charters to CPR training in schools. Her ability to balance strategic leadership with a relentless focus on patient care makes Alison a true unsung hero.
