Andy joined the police in Northern Ireland in 1999. He holds the rank of Chief Inspector and is the President of the National Black Police Association. Andy represents around 6000 members across the UK, to ensure members receive support; he engages with senior leaders, wider national stakeholders and community groups for ethnically diverse backgrounds. Andy advises the National Police Chiefs' Council, College of Policing, Independent Office of Police Complaints, Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Service on racial equality, system change and police accountability.
