Brett Egan-Briers is a retired fire officer with 36 years fire service experience. Brett became responsible for firefighters’ personal protective equipment (PPE) in 2000 and now has over 22 years’ direct experience of firefighting PPE. Brett works closely with the National Fire Chiefs Council’s (NFCC) Procurement Hub as National Technical Advisor for PPE and is vice chair of the NFCC PPE And Clothing Committee. Brett also represents NFCC on various Standards committees within BSi, CEN and ISO and has recently taken the chair of the BSi standards committee for Firefighters PPE.
