Carney Bonner has worked within Crisis and Emergency Management at the British Red Cross since 2020. Originally joining the South & Channel Islands team, he supported the regions' response to Covid-19, the Afghan Repatriation Response of 2021, and a number of other deployments, eventually becoming Emergency Response Operations Manager for the area. In 2022, he became the UK Community Resilience Development Lead for the organisation, a role which focuses on supporting operational teams to better understand and champion community resilience and its importance within the emergency management cycle. Carney also currently sits on the Advisory Board of the National Consortium for Societal Resilience [UK+] (NCSR+) that was established to enhance the UK whole-of-society approach to resilience, so that individuals, community groups, businesses, and organisations can all play a meaningful part in building the resilience of our society.
