Dan is a member of the Chief Officer Team within the Directorate of Professional Standards at the Metropolitan Police Service, where he helps shape strategic direction, promote ethical leadership, and uphold high standards of professional behaviour across the organisation.

With a strong focus on integrity, accountability, and cultural reform, Dan works alongside colleagues to build confidence both within policing and among the public. His work supports the fair, lawful, and effective use of police powers, ensuring officers and staff have the guidance and support needed to carry out their roles professionally and safely.

Alongside his role at the Metropolitan Police Service, Dan serves as the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) Lead for Uniform, Body Armour, and Self-Defence & Restraint. In this capacity, he oversees the national approach to officer safety equipment, training, and standards, working to improve consistency across UK police forces, deliver value through procurement, and support innovation that enhances officer safety and operational effectiveness.
