Force Psychologist, Merseyside Police
Dr Esther Ingham is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with specialist expertise in trauma, resilience, and psychological support within policing. She has played a leading role in shaping psychological services across several law enforcement agencies before moving to Merseyside Police in 2022. There, she established an award-winning embedded psychological support service delivering trauma therapy, critical incident debriefing, psychoeducation, and one of the largest peer support networks in UK policing. Esther is also guest lecturer on the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the University of Manchester, and has recently began branching out into Systems-Psychoanalytic Organisational Consultancy.
