Hayley-Jade May
Hayley is a member of the Strategy and Governance team within the Directorate of Professional Standards at the Metropolitan Police Service, where she works to improve officer safety, welfare, and organisational learning through enhanced training, PPE, and post-incident support.
With over 15 years of operational policing experience across Public Order, Public and Personal Safety, and PolSA, Hayley brings a practical perspective to shaping approaches that equip officers and staff to carry out their duties safely, lawfully, and effectively.
Alongside her role at the Metropolitan Police Service, Hayley serves as Staff Officer to the NPCC Lead for Uniform, Body Armour, and Self-Defence & Restraint, supporting the national approach to officer safety equipment, training, and standards, and contributing to greater consistency, value, and innovation across UK policing.
