John has worked in crime and policing in a number of organisations during his career and has been with the Home Office for 14 years.
The Police Uplift Programme supports forces to deliver the Government’s key manifesto commitment to of recruiting an additional 20,000 police officers in England and Wales by March 2023. John is currently responsible for the policy team working to Government Ministers as part of a multi-disciplinary effort in the Department, which in turn works in collaboration with the National Police Chiefs’ Council, the College of Policing and forces to support the delivery of police recruitment.
