Lorraine works at the HSE Science and Research Centre and provides customer solutions to a range of stakeholders in industry, government and academia to help them understand and manage risk from emerging net zero energy technologies, so that they can be deployed safely.  These specifically include hydrogen and lithium ion battery technologies.  More recently Lorraine has been specifically focussed on leading the coordination of HSE’s net zero research and consultancy activities, which are undertaken from the HSE Science and Research Centre, in Buxton, Derbyshire, with a specific interest in working in collaboration with industry and government in the pre-normative space for safe development and deployment of new net zero technologies.
