Matthew serves as the National Police Chaplain with the National Police Chiefs' Council, where he leads the strategic development of pastoral care for more than 270,000 individuals across UK policing. He is also Chief Executive Officer of Police Chaplaincy UK, supporting a national network of 500 chaplains through training, guidance, and the implementation of the newly established ‘Gold Standards’—a framework aligned with the vision of ‘Bringing Chaplaincy to the Heart of Policing’. An ordained Minister based in Birmingham, Matthew’s journey into chaplaincy began following the 2011 UK riots, and he remains deeply committed to expanding pastoral care and wellbeing support for officers, staff, and volunteers.
