Matthew Hopley

Matthew is the National Police Chaplain, working with the National Police Chiefs’ Council. Passionate about helping people thrive, he leads pastoral care across UK policing, shaping the strategic vision and future direction of chaplaincy nationwide. Involved since 2011, he oversees around 500 chaplains serving 270,000 personnel. He introduced the Gold Standards for Police Chaplaincy to strengthen and enhance the provision and serves as CEO of Police Chaplaincy UK. Matthew lives in Birmingham with his wife and three children.
