Patrick Duggan

Associate Professor of Performance and Culture
Patrick is a researcher, academic leader and research manager with an internationally recognised scholarly profile in arts, culture, performance, and questions of urban living. Committed to real-world research and interdisciplinary collaboration, he has facilitated activities across sectors and disciplines, including with the NHS, and with resilience professionals internationally. Duggan co-directs Performing City Resilience with Dr Stuart Andrews; together, they are writing two books (Rethinking Resilience: Performance Practices of Contemporary New Orleans [LSU Press] and Performance, Place and Crisis [Palgrave]) and leading on the AHRC funded project ‘Social Distancing and Reimagining City Life’. Duggan is Associate Professor of Performance and Culture, and Head of Film, Media, Theatre and Performance, at Northumbria University.
