Richard Lewis
Richard Lewis FIoL is Chief Operating Officer at World Extreme Medicine, where he oversees operational delivery, organisational development, and strategic partnerships across the organisation's international activities. A Fellow of the Institute of Leadership, Richard has over 20 years' leadership experience spanning the Royal Marines, government, education, and international organisations, specialising in organisational transformation, governance, and operational readiness.
Richard served with 40 Commando Royal Marines, completing four operational tours including Northern Ireland, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and was among the first British ground forces deployed into Afghanistan and Iraq. He has since led organisational transformation across the UK, the Middle East, and the international non-profit sector, helping organisations strengthen performance, governance, and operational capability in complex environments.
Alongside his executive role, Richard serves as a Community First Responder with Southwestern Ambulance Service. At Resilience360, he will translate the operational lessons emerging from Ukraine into practical strategies for UK emergency services, exploring how organisations can strengthen leadership, interoperability and resilience before the next major incident tests the system.
