Sophy Brough
Sophy Brough is Deputy Paddlecraft Lead for the water team and a member of the rope rescue team at Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR), part of Lowland Rescue. HANTSAR is listed as a national flood asset and supports flood-related incidents locally and nationally, alongside its wider search and rescue role across Hampshire.
Sophy holds a Master’s degree in Disaster Management and has a particular interest in the role of trained volunteers in emergency response and long-term community resilience. She combines frontline operational experience with an academic interest in how the UK adapts to changing risk, and how volunteer capability can be safely and effectively integrated into national preparedness and response.
