The future of the fire and rescue sector in the context of digital, data and cyber: A discussion with the National Fire Chiefs Council

In February 2024, techUK launched an official partnership with the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) to foster closer collaboration between NFCC and tech industry on the exchange of ideas, knowledge and skills.

Through this partnership, the Fire Innovation Forum was established to bring together fire sector DDaT leaders and techUK members to shape how technology and data can drive national transformation across fire and rescue services.

The next session of the forum will be held at the Emergency Services Show co located with the Emergency Tech Show in Birmingham, where NFCC leaders will explore how DDaT is already transforming the fire and rescue sector — from early adoption of AI-enabled risk assessment to automation in operational and back-office processes.

They will then look ahead to the innovations expected to shape the sector over the next few years. The session aims to give attendees a shared view of current progress and emerging opportunities, and to surface practical examples that fire services and technology suppliers can build on together.
